Dear Class of 2025 Students and Families:

The spring Senior Internship Experience (SIE) for the Class of 2025 will be available for eligible seniors and sponsored by the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Bureau.

The SIE is an unpaid program that enables students to gain work experience in areas of career interest before graduating from high school. Completing the SIE can count toward the Mastery-Based Learning Assessment graduation requirement.

The 2024-25 SIE will be 3 weeks after AP testing from Monday, May 19th through Friday, June 6th.  Program requirements for students who want to participate in the Spring 2025 SIE program are:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Teacher approval submission
  • Must meet grade, attendance, and behavior requirements for semesters 1 and 2 of senior year
  • Must not have failed or be in danger of failing any senior year course (this includes Physical Education)
  • Must be meeting all graduation requirements
  • Must complete mandatory workplace safety education
  • Must complete the Senior Graduation Survey
  • SIE participation is subject to review and approval from parent/guardian, school counselor, principal, and SIE Coordinator

The Mayor's Youth Services Bureau will share additional information with all seniors, including how to apply for available SIE work assignments.

If you have questions about the SIE, please contact Michelle Lappas from the Mayor’s Youth Services Bureau at 203-977-0830 or via email.
