Ms. Rivera's Weekly Communication
Dear AITE Family,
I hope this communication finds you well and in good spirits as we finally welcome the arrival of spring. Spring recess provides a well-deserved break for our students, families, and staff and the opportunity to recharge, spend quality time with loved ones, and perhaps experience some new adventures. Whether you are planning a getaway or enjoying a “staycation,” I encourage you to make the most of this time to relax and enjoy!
We are in the fourth and final quarter of this school year. We will be wrapping up the school year with various activities, celebrations, and assessments aimed at commemorating our students’ achievements and ensuring a smooth transition into the summer break. Please keep an eye out for important dates and events in my weekly communication, so you do not miss any news.
Before we embark on the spring recess and the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and partnership with us in your child’s education. I hope that we will continue to work together to foster a dynamic and supportive learning environment for our students, both in and out of the classroom.
Kind regards,
Ms. Rivera
COVID Dashboard
We had one reported COVID case this week.
Absence Documentation
Written documentation is required from a parent/guardian upon the date of the student’s return from an absence. It can be sent in one of two ways:
1. by email to AITEAttendance@stamfordct.gov from the parent or
2. a written note from the parent sent directly to the office
The documentation must contain the date(s) of and the reason for the student's absence from school. Parents should contact their child's school counselor regarding the collection of homework assignments if their child will be out for several days.
Graduation Date:
AITE’s graduation will take place on Friday, June 14 at 3:00 p.m. in Rippowam’s auditorium. Seniors must complete all of the requirements for graduation in order to be eligible to participate in the ceremony. This includes a mandatory rehearsal on Thursday, June 13 at 12:00 pm in Rippowam’s auditorium. Seniors will receive their caps and gowns following rehearsal. There will be a senior picnic following graduation rehearsal on the patio and fields at AITE.
Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Assessment
The NGSS assessment is Connecticut’s statewide mastery examination for science given in grades 5, 8, and 11. They aim to provide an efficient and reliable estimate of a student’s overall performance in science relative to grade-appropriate standards that enables valid interpretations of student achievement and progress. Families who have students in grade 11 will receive a separate email with more information about testing, which will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at the start of period 1. It will be a normal A-day for all other students in grades 9, 10, and 12.
Prom Tickets
Prom tickets are now on sale for $95.
Spring Musicals
AITE has several talented cast and crew members from Stamford High’s Strawberry Hill Players and Westhill’s Northstar Playmakers, who are hard at work rehearsing for their upcoming spring musicals. The Strawberry Hill Players will present Mamma Mia! while the Northstar Playmakers will present Chicago: Teen Edition. All performances take place between April 26 and May 4.
