Congratulations to 3 AITE freshmen whose team placed second at the Odyssey of the Mind state finals

Congratulations to freshmen Alyssa Craner, Leah Jacobson, and Julia Kempton whose team competed at Odyssey of the Mind state finals on Saturday, March 18. The Stamford Division III Team, comprised of students from AITE, Rippowam and Scofield, were challenged to design, build, and run vehicles that are run from one place to another, each taking a different route and doing something to avoid being followed. The team worked on their solution for the past seven months, also creating costumes, set-pieces and a skit for their 8-minute presentation. Their creativity designing the vehicles, script and scenery all paid off as they took 2nd place in the high school division at the state finals. Their team will be heading to the World Finals at Michigan State University from May 24th-28th to compete against high school teams from across the US and approximately 30 different countries. Odyssey of the Mind is the largest international creative problem-solving competition worldwide. Each team is faced with a long-term problem and a spontaneous challenge using concepts from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, while also incorporating the use of critical thinking skills, creativity and teamwork. We wish the team lots of luck as they move on to the World Finals!
