Ms. Rivera's Weekly Communication

Dear AITE Community,

During the month of February, we recognize and celebrate Black History Month – a time to honor the rich heritage, achievements, and contributions of African-Americans throughout history. This month provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the impact of African-American leaders, scholars, artists, and changemakers who have shaped our society in profound ways.

At AITE, we are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students can engage with history in meaningful ways. As such, our focus is on encouraging reflection and awareness through classroom learning and school communications. We invite our students and families to explore the rich history, contributions, and achievements of African-Americans and engage in meaningful conversations both at school and at home. Together, we can ensure that our students gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse voices and stories that have helped shape our world.

Thank you for joining us in celebrating Black History Month and embracing the diversity that enriches our school community. Together, we can continue to foster appreciation, understanding, and respect for all cultures.

Best,

Ms. Rivera

Absence Documentation

Written documentation is required from a parent/guardian whenever a student is absent from school. It can be sent in one of two ways:

1. by email to AITEattendance@stamfordps.org from the parent or
2. a written note from the parent sent directly to the office

The documentation must contain the date(s) of and the reason for the student's absence from school. If this documentation is not received within 10 days of the absence, the absence will be considered unexcused. Parents should contact their child's school counselor regarding the collection of homework assignments if their child will be out for several days.

Please see Ms. Rivera's weekly communication email for the link to SPS’ BOE Attendance/High School Regulations 5113A.

Course Selection

Course Selection for the 2025-2026 school year will begin next week and continue through Friday 2/28/25.  During the next few weeks, grade level assemblies will take place and counselors will be visiting classrooms to provide students with information that explains the process and next year’s new schedule. National School Counseling Week

This was National School Counseling Week, presented by the American School Counselor Association; it was created to highlight the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. I want to thank our four dedicated school counselors and let them know that we are grateful for their contributions every day!
